When you look at the Bighorn Canyon from this location you will see where the Bighorn River has cut downward almost 900 feet. You will also be able to see part of the old river bed from millions of years ago. Looking at the rock layers in the canyon you will notice a fold in the massive limestone beds. This is an anticline (a sharply arched fold of rock that arches downward in opposite directions).
