The Tartines, "Sandwiches", in limestones (calcareous carboniferous), represent an extreme form of differential deterioration: certain benches "were entirely eaten" by erosion whereas others are drawn up intact on great heights.
The village Comblain-au Pont is situated between two protected area's: 'Les Tartines' and 'les Roches Noires'. Near the tower of St-Martin, an ancient remainder of a citadel of the 12e century, you have a great view over the merging of the rivers the Ourthe and the Amblève. Above these rivers the Tartines rise. Vertical limestone rocks of which the intervening layers were sharpened by erosion. At the given coördinate you will find an information-panel.
To log this cache you must do two things:
1: Take a picurte of yourself with your GPS and The Tartines at the background, and place this with your log

De la Tour St-Martin, un restant d'une ancienne citadelle de 12e siècle, vous avez une beaux point de vue sûr le confluent de l'Ourthe et le Amblève. Ici se dressent les célèbres Tartines. Tranches des roche calcaires, des couches intermédiares qui ont été érodees. Se trouve à coté de la tour un tableau d'information.
Pour logging cette cache vous devez faire 2 choses:
1: Prenez une photo de vous-même avec votre GPS et les Tartines comme arrière-plan, et ajouter celle-ci à votre log
2: Envoyez nous le noms des autres rochers qui sont aussi classés sûr ce site. (voyez le tableau d'information)
De Tartines, "Boterhamrots", uit kalksteen (het kalk Carboon), vertegenwoordigd een extreme vorm van differentiële verslechtering: bepaalde delen werden "volledig opgegeten" door erosie terwijl andere delen op grote hoogte intact bleven.
Het dorpje Comblain-au-Pont ligt tussen twee beschermde natuurgebieden: 'Les Tartines' en 'les Roches Noires'. Bij de Sint-Maartenstoren, een overblijfsel van een 12e-eeuwse burcht heb je een mooi uitzicht op het samenkomen van de rivieren de Ourthe en de Amblève. Hierboven verheffen zich de beroemde Tartines. Verticale kalkrotsen waarvan de tussenliggende lagen door erosie werden uitgeslepen. Je vind hier een informatiebord.
Om deze cache te loggen moet je 2 dingen doen:
1: Neem een foto van jezelf, je GPS en de Tartines op de achtergrond, en plaats deze bij je log
