This cache has been archived.

geodarts: Simplification. Too much broom. The sign is not effective there. And it is time for a change. The Cache is removed.

Geocache Description:

When going out of your way to get to a cache, have you ever wondered if you will be able to find it?

Locally, there is at least one cacher who purports to be in recovery after placing evil hides. And others have taken special care to make sure people find their caches by using orange cones, hummers, spare body parts, road kill, and pieces of bark to mark where the cache is placed. I wondered what I could do to make sure that my fellow cachers are able to find an ammo can hidden in the woods. And then the answer came: its easy to miss things with everyone trying to move fast to increase their numbers, so I simply needed to place a container where you have to slow down.

I followed a trail from Deer Park in Fairfax to the cache location. There are several different ways to get here, but I turned right, across the bridge, near the reserved parking sign in the lot. There are no tricks to it — it is not disguised as something else, placed at the top of a power pole, or hidden down a steep canyon where only a deer would go. It is just there, right next to one of my favorite spots in on the trail, a perfect place to sit with the dog or have a picnic. Bonus points™ (redeemable for first to find credits or Geocoin discoveries) are awarded to everyone who practices their CIBO skills along the way.

The cache was originally filled with in-theme items. I don't expect you to know the theme, but please make sure that others will enjoy what you leave as much as you enjoy what you take. And of course, go lightly on the landscape and return everything as you find it.
