In Zmutt auf 1972 MüM steht eine von 4 Pumpstationen, die Wassermassen vom Stausee in den 24 km langen Stollen zum Grande Dixance pumpen.
Mit dem Bau des Staudamm in Zmutt wurde 1962 begonnen. 1964 wurde das Werk in Betrieb genommen. Die Staumauer hat eine Höhe von 74 Meter und eine Kronenlänge von 144 Meter. Das Volumen des Sees beträgt 840 000 Kubikmeter.
Die Pumpstation pumpt Wasser 470 Meter hoch in den 24 Km langen Hauptstollen zum Stausee Grand Dixence. Die Pumpe hat eine Fördermenge von 17,4 Kubikmeter pro Sekunde.
Der Weg zum Cache ist leicht. Von der Bahnstation Furi benötigt man ca 30 Minuten zum Cache. Der Cache kann aber auch direkt von Zermatt angegangen werden. Eine weitere möglichkeit besteht während der Sommersaison. Beim Sportgeschäft neben der Bahnstation können Trottinette gemietet werden. Mit der Bahn kann man dann auf zum Schwarzsee. Vom Schwarzsee kann diese Route zum Cache gefahren werden.
Zum heben des Caches muss der Weg nicht verlassen werden!
On Zmutt about 1972 müM is one of four Pumpstations witch Water from Dam to the Grand Dixence pumped. The Dam was build 1962. On 1964 the pump was working. The Dam is 74 Meter high and 144 Meter long. The Volume of this lake is 840000 Kubicmeter. The Pump must pump water 470 Meters high in a big hole throught the Rock.
The Way to the Cache is easy. From Furi you will need 30 Minutes. From Zermatt direct to the cache is maybe 75-90 Minutes. You can walk or you can go by bike to the cache.
Also for Nordic-walking it is a nice way.
