Geocache Description:

A small cache in an old park - starting as a motorcycle-related cache, and morphing into a general cache! It is hidden on the edge in the trees. As from March 31, 2008, this cache is twinned with Bikers' Rest Memorial Travel Bug Hotel, placed in Andover Massachusetts by Beloved Brian's Geocaching Family (GC1CKT4), 'MotorcycleR' and 'ABZRJ'.

Bikers in the Park cache is hidden in Farnham Park, which was once the hunting grounds of the Bishops of Winchester. It's hidden not far from where our grandson fell off his bike into a patch of nettles - ouch! There is lots of wildlife in the park – particularly foxes, badgers and deer. It really is in the park boundary (the Yahoo map picture isn't correct). The coordinates are accurate to within 25 feet.

While you're in the park be sure to stop off and see what remains of the mediaeval castle - it's now an international teaching centre and areas of the castle are open to the public.

There are two carparks. The easiest is next to the playing fields and is best approached from Castle Street in Farnham. It's well signposted.
N 51° 13.224'
W 000° 48.064'

There is a public golf course and snack bar close-by, and public toilets.

There is a second small carpark right on the edge of the park at:
N 51° 13.441'
W 000° 48.189'
This one has a small access point that can be difficult to spot, It is close to a bend in the road, so be careful when pulling out into the 40mph traffic!

There are other access points to the park that the locals will know but it's best to use one of the carparks if you don't know the area.

When left the cache contained a number of motorcycle-related things plus a few extras.
FTF: There's so much good stuff in here it's up to you to decide!
'Biking 4 Cache' geocoin (in memory of motogrrl)
A toy model of one of our bikes
A warthog tusk (Yes, really!)
A piston keychain
2 pairs of earplugs
A sheet of bike stickers
Some amber 3M self-adhesive reflective tape
A 'biker-babe' pigtail (stick it on your helmet!)
A couple of hair 'twisties'
Smokey the Bear bookmark
An eyeshade, and
An autographed Steve Brookstein CD (the X-factor winner)
Plus the usual notepad and pencil. Note that the coin is a traveller, not for keeping.

We would like to keep the cache biker-related and ask that fellow cachers try to be creative in their choice of new items to leave! We'll pop by from time to time to see what's in it. Bring small items – the box is not very big 8” x 5” x 2” (20cm x 13cm x 5cm)

We rated the terrain as a 2 only because of all the nettles and brambles. Long trousers advised. There is also a lot of tree cover and satellite reception isn't the best at the site but is clear on the way there.
