The last resting place of the most famous clown in the UK - Coco
the Clown.
There is plenty of space for parking
along the road near the church.
Coco the Clown is a name given to various Circus clowns who
traditionally wear 'Auguste' clown make-up. Technically, Coco is
not a clown but an 'Auguste' - that is the foolish character who is
always on the receiving end of buckets of water and custard pies.
The Auguste often works with the cleverer white-faced 'clown' who
always gets the better of him. The most famous bearer of the title
Coco the Clown was Nicolai Poliakoff (or Poliakovs)
(1900-1974).
The coordinates above take you his final resting place in the
village of Woodnewton. Once you find his grave you will need to
look at nearby graves to find the following information:
John Leonard died in 19AB, aged CD
William John Leonard died in 19EF, aged GH
James Walter Chambers died in 19JK, aged LM
You will find the final cache at the following coordinates:
N52° 3(E+G-M).(D-A-M)(J+K-G)(B+C-A)
W000° 2(C+B).(H-K-G)(L+G-B)(J-F)
The cache is a short walk away and is a small black lock'n'lock
style container.
