Geocache Description:

Maybe this isn't a river, but it is a big brook. But ir is a border!
The border to the Ormtjernkampen National Park. Find the cahe and see
using the route I propose.

View to the west from the cache. There are many nice places for a rest along the river.

The river on the picture to the left forms the border to Ormtjernskampen National Park on the far (northern side).The cache is placed outside the National Park, as organised sport usually is prohibited in the National Parks.

The problem with visitors to this National Park - in my opinion - is that they follow the road and one of the trails up to the mountain top with the same name as the National Park and admire the view.

But view is not what this National Park is about. It was made a National Park because the area had almost untouched forest.

And if you follow the road and trail you will miss that.

You should of course also visit the  peak of Ormstjernkampen. But first you find the cache, then you follow the ridge up to the peak. The coordinate set for the trigonometric point ont the peak is: N 61 11.540 E 9 49.514. And by the way - the height is 1127.95 meters above sea level (top of metallic marker).

The cache: is a Decon container hanging about 2 meters above ground in a spruce around 8 meters high. Please note that the Decon container has a carabiner like mechanism. Use this mechanism to free the cache, do not use brute force. The cache box contains log and a few items for trading and a little gift for the FTF.

How to get there: Park at the parking area by National Route 204 at N 61 10.660 E 9 51.878.
From there let your GPSr take you to the cache and then to the peak (see above), it is best to stick close  the ridge on the way up See the map in the gallery).. It is possible to get a key to the closed road at Holsbru Kafé (for a fee), but don't. You should walk. It's only about 1 kilometer to the cache. And to the peak you have to walk the same distance anyway. From the peak and down you can take one of the trails.  Please note that the one leaving the peak southwards is not on the map.
