The land for this cemetery was donated by Arthur Power, Farmington's founder. The first person was interred here back in 1825 so there are many stories to be read as you pass through. Historical cemetery caches have quickly become my favorite finds... leading me to hide my first cache in one. The hours for Oakwood Cemetery are 9am-6pm daily. Have an enjoyable (and respectful please) visit!
UPDATE: 07/26/16
After 9 long years and over 400 successful finds this geocache has finally gotten a new (and slightly larger) container, a new log, and a few small items to trade. Full image makeover, if you will. We are thrilled that this geocache has been so popular over the last decade and want to continue its life as a fun and quality geocache in the Farmington community so thought a little bit more space for trade items and travel bugs was a good idea. Please make a special effort to trade thoughtful items and not fill the container with ...ick. :) Bring your own pen to sign log. *OLD CACHE CONTAINER INFO* The cache is an old metal tea tin, painted to blend in. You'll have to put some muscle into removing the lid since the paint I used seems to have some grip! (sorry 'bout that). You'll find enough room for small trade items, travel bugs, and geocoins.
