Geocache Description:

In Feb 2006, I went to a breakfast event in Jersey. At the event, I won a cache container, which is what I used when I placed my cache "One Step Forward, Two Steps Back".

After the event was over, a fair number of us went out caching the Pine Barrens. It was a crazy day, the temperature never came about 20 degrees, the wind had a slight breeze, and we went running into water! Streams, water pits, muck and marsh, you name it, we dealt with it. In fact, we spent an out trying to get a geomobile out of one of the water pits.

The rest of the day we day one cacher RUN through a stream. He figured if we went fast enough, he would get less water on his clothes. The exact opposite happened, his legs and feet kicked up more water, so the back of his pants and coat were soaked. Later on, another cacher fell in the marsh up to her waist in the thick smelly muck. (Remember I mentioned it never got above 20 degrees?) It was an amazing day, and those two cachers stuck it out for the full 10+ hour caching spree around the pine barrens.

So what is the point of my reminiscing, you ask? Well, this trail you'll be going down reminds me of the areas we went through that day. The only differences are, here there is no marsh, but there is a lot of water, a lot of thorns, and at times a nice view. If you're lucky, you'll have a trail to walk down.

This cache is very close to, but not down the edge. No need to go down the hill!

Also, it is hunting season once again, so bring out the orange vests. When I was leaving my car to place this, a few hunters going into the bush thanked me for wearing my orange and said they would be watching for me. WEAR ORANGE!
