The Devine family once owned the land in this area and operated the punt across the river. Grandma Freak can remember crossing with her family many years ago. These days the area has a growing population but it is still worlds away from the much busier Gold Coast further north. The scenery at this location is also divine. If you take a short walk to the highest point you have a wide outlook including views of the ocean, the coastline, and the mountains.
Afterwards its worth dropping down to Brunswick Heads (just across the river to the south), a quiet coastal town, for a cup of coffee, a dip in the river or ocean, a visit to the pub, or a bit more caching.
A spoiler photo is provided below to help minimise impact on the area.
