The trailhead is located at the top of the Crowne at Wailuna
subdivision. This is a private gated community so you will have to
park outside and walk to the top. Follow the cement road to the BWS
Water Tank, then continue uphill on the jeep road. The path will
curve into a small forest and when you emerge from the trees you
have arrived. This winding manicured stretch of trail contours the
ridge overlooking Punanani Gulch to your right and occasionally
Waiau Gulch to your left.
If you are so “inclined” you can continue past the
two power line poles and claim the two Halapepe caches and Porter
further up the trail.
