Sunset Beach Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TheKoondogs: Well, the fun has come to an end. The cache was apparently removed or lost during construction nearby, and I am not going to be able to replace it anytime soon. Will free the location up for some other enterprising cacher to make a hide.

Geocache Description:

There is a parking lot at the side of the road at the base of the West Beach hill. Its just a small gravel lot, but it is so many things to so many people:

- A great spot for sunsets over the Strait and San Juans.

- Launching point for a beach hike at the base of the cliffs.

- Speed trap for the State Troopers looking for people taking full advantage of gravity.

- Birding platform for those in search of loons, pintails or marsh hawks.

- Wind surfing for those without feeling in their extremities.

- One-time foundation for a house for people unfamiliar with the beach erosion rate.

- Vista for watching great winter storms (see last two bullets).

- Rest stop for bikers getting ready for "the hill".

- Fishing spot during the humpy run.

- "Parking" spot for local teens.

- Hunting spot for duck hunters.

- Turnaround for cars.

The great thing about caching is that it can be done in conjunction with any of these activities (even speed traps, I guess)! So the next time you stop by to do whatever it is that you do here, grab the cache before you go.

Cache is a small tupperware (3" diameter). Big enough for coins, but no writing utensil in there at present, so BYOP!
