IMPORTANT TRAIL NOTES: This series of caches is located
at the Brown County Reforestation Camp. You do not need to go far
from the trail to reach the caches. The trails are reported to be
CLOSED during the two weeks of gun deer season (late November), so
check park and hunting schedules before you head out. Also, several
of the areas these caches are located in are open to hunting during
early bow deer season (September-November). Also, these are
MULTI-USE trails, so watch out for mountain bikes. The trails are
closed to mountain bikes from late fall to spring, so you may see a
big "Trail Closed" bar at the trail head where you park. However,
(according to the parks department), trails are closed for biking
only, so you are still welcome to walk on them.
Whew! Really, it's not that complicated except for the month of
November...
After we began geocaching, we learned about letterboxing. Each
has its good points, but one of the things we like about
letterboxing is that the children get to take something lasting
with them from each find--an impression of the stamp that is in the
box. Over time, they have a nice log book with memories of all the
places that we have visited, which far outlast any McToy in a
cache.
So we set out to do a letterbox hybrid, but by the time we were
done, we had carved four stamps! We thought of doing a multi, but
wanted cachers to be able to have a letterbox icon in their stat
bar. So, do this series and you can have four letterbox finds.
Each of these cache containers is a medium-sized tupperware
container with room for small trading items for cachers and a
hand-carved stamp for letterboxers. This is designed to be an easy
to find series for the whole family to enjoy. It will be a 2.5-mile
round trip walk, but the trail is relatively flat and smooth.

HERE . Read it for fun, or take it along as a backup to your
GPSr.
This series of caches will take you on what used to be called
the Salmon Trail at Reforestation Camp, but was changed to the Pink
Trail because apparently people didn't know salmon is pink. This is
a multi-purpose trail, where you may also find mountain bikes and
horses.
This first stop will take you to a bridge. It should be fairly
obvious where the cache is. We checked the coords several times on
this and did get a little variation, so if the way is not obvious,
please decode the hint to minimize trampling the vegetation
unnecessarily.
The caches in this series include:
GC16GCT Salmon Run 1 – O’er the Water
GC16GCY Salmon Run 2 – Whispering Pines
GC16GD1 Salmon Run 3 – Pondside Find
GC16GD6 Salmon Run 4 – The Final
