The Back of Bourke is more than a geographic location, it's part of the Australian language, part of the folklore.
Bourke provoked author Henry Lawson to write after his visit in 1893, 'If you know Bourke, you know Australia.'
I wanted a cache here to show the harshness out the landscape out the Back of Bourke. The cache is about 400m off the highway out into the harsh landscape. Enjoy the walk and tranquility of the area.
Wear a hat and take water as most days are hot.
