Geocache Description:

This micro is located within the St. Joseph community west of Highway 21 in Ontario's Huron County. Its location is visible to muggles -- there will be many in the summer. Parking is within easy walking distance! Bring your own pen.

To understand the significance of this unique location, refer to GCNB5F - "The City That Never Was". More specific information about the cache location can be found on a plaque located at N 43 degrees 24.815; W 081 degrees 42.399. This cache is located near the western terminus of a canal which Narcisse Cantin (1870-1940) proposed to link Lake Huron to Lake Erie. Much of what Cantin envisioned, such as the St. Lawrence Seaway and hydro-electric developments, were completed by various governments in Canada and the USA. Although his proposed canal was never built, many others were -- Cantin was referred to as "The Father of the St. Lawrence Seaway." Enjoy the view, particularly at sunset.
