The Wombles first appeared on our TV screens in 1973 but were first about before that. They were probably before their time in that they were trying to get across the green message.
The Wombles have moved to a new Burrow in Devon so that they might go and watch all the people doing the Commando Challenge on Woodbury Common - especially all those mad cachers!
