Be warned this multi-cache is not for the faint of heart. If you need a hint we will give you one. Please don't be afraid to post a note. There are many stages to this cache and we want to keep it in good working order. If people don't post notes or send us an e-mail we will not know if a problem exists.
For "Nightowl’s Midnight Ride" you will have to think out of the box.
In the words of an immortal cacher:
“If you feel the need to put this on your ignore list it is ok, there are no hurt feelings!”
Now that the formalities are out of the way. This cache came about after we received an e-mail from Nightowl telling us how much she liked our other multi cache. In her e-mail she made reference to a possible 5, 6, 7 or 8 stage multi from The Riders. We talked it over and decided that this was just the challenge we were looking for. We did a lot of brain storming and found we could not stop at 8 so we decided to come up with a 9 stage cache. This surely would only bring out the best of the best to try for the glory of the hunt.
Every stage is different than the next so as to keep it interesting and maybe a little frustrating. If you finish this cache you will definitely have a feeling of accomplishment.
We will provide a list of things you will need to complete the hunt for this cache:
1. Boots
2. Flashlight
3. Mirror
4. A good working knowledge of your GPS unit
5. Patience
*You should will probably have to use all these items at least once. Especialy #5 it's a must.
We will also give you some clues:
Stage 1 – No clue (remember we said some)
Stage 2 – Kiss the Blarney Stone
Stage 3 – GPSr knowledge is needed, don’t make it harder than it is, it's not a rock, no need to move or touch anything, use your eyes, you will probably use your GPSr in ways you never have before.
Stage 4 – This one is easy (after stage 3)
Stage 5 – Fred’s job
Stage 6 – Think out of the box
Stage 7 – Macgiver/I-Spy combo(use one of your items but, which one?)
Stage 8 – Macgiver
Stage 9 – This one is easy so you can rest your brain.
Final is filled with Midnight Rider trinkets while they last Please do not disassemble anything except maybe a lid on a cache container just stand back and use your imagination.
We hope our reputation will stay in tact with this one.
Update!!! 10/28/07 We found that the clue on stage 8 was not very durable so it has been repaired. This new clue should hold up to the weather a little better. Happy Hunting. Good Luck You will need it!
Update!!! 3/24/08 Stage 8 has been changed again to be even more durable. We hope it lasts.
