Paul Simon, the US singer-songwriter, requires no introduction. "I Am A Rock", released in 1965, describes a person who is sick of society and chooses to be isolated and alone. Surprisingly, this haunting melody is a favourite for many. Don't worry though - if all of this appears too deep and depressing then the following tales may be comforting:
1. Art Garfunkel called it "Paul's most neurotic song"
2. When Paul Simon first performed the song privately, he reportedly rolled around the floor in laughter at the earnestness of it all!
