Historical Tomball @ it's finest
The earliest known settler on Willow Creek was a Frenchman, Claude Nicholas Pillot (Henke & Pillot fame) He was the son of Charles Eugene & Marianne Pillot, of France. In 1837 Claude emgrated he & his family to America. Landing in New York he worked as a timber farmer for 5 years, and then moved to an easier climate & terrain, ala, Texas, hearing of the heavily wooded acreage The Republic of Texas was offering. He graciously accepted 1280 acres on Willow Creek, building a farm about a mile SW of Tomball.
This cache is in a gorgeous cemetary, & a Travel bug Hotel, with a few trade items. It is placed strategically so no graves have to be stepped upon. Do take time to enjoy the history, and the timeline will take you back to the 1800's. You will see history unfold of some famous people, such as the Pillots (grocery store magnate), and Joseph EugenePillot; a well known Playwright.
This cache is available in daytime hours ONLY. There is a gate there that has no lock on it. This land is a State Historical Site. Please preserve it as such.
2.5 rating only if it has rained. You may rather walk from the road.
Watch for mugglers next door.
