Geocache Description:

The Hidden Moorlands series consists of seven geocaches hidden around the Staffordshire Moorlands. This series will introduce the geocacher to some of the less well-known beauty spots of the district. This cache is located alongside a bridleway on the edge of Croxden Quarry. When the quarry operations moved westwards in 2000, the nearby Counslow road was re-routed and the bridleway was created. From the cache location, there are good views over the nearby town of Cheadle.

Inside the cache you will find the West co-ordinates for Ross Bridge.

The nearest parking spot is on the old Counslow Road, which can be accessed from the B5032. Although this road is now a dead end, please park sensibly as access to premises is still required. From here, follow the bridleway towards the cache. The cache is hidden about two metres from the path. There is no need to venture any further from the path! Be wary of the nearby quarry with it's steep cliffs. If you have time on your hands, parking is available at the opposite end of Counslow Road near the Queen's pub, where the quarry have provided a viewing platform. Follow the bridleway through the woods towards the cache.
