Cache is a 35mm film canister inside a large mailbox covered in rocks on the east side of Flanigan's Arch 550 feet above Ashdown Gorge. The arch is 100 feet high and spans 60 feet across. The mailbox was placed by the Uinta Regional Group of the Sierra Club on May 1, 1965. There are a several ways to approach this cache, none are easy for different reasons. You can use this link for more info: http://www.zionnational-park.com/dfhistory.htm One approach is from Ashdown Gorge and ascend the Gorge from Flanigan's Cache by Toad. Toad is the only geocacher I know who has climbed to the arch and signed the log several years ago. DJandJules know of it and referenced it when they logged Toad's 'Flanigan's Cache.' A second approach is from the North. The road up there can be accessed from Summit. This is the easiest approach, but you need to be very careful because there is a lot of private property. If crossing private property make sure to have permission of the owner to cross those areas that are posted.
