Soccer Star Jonny Traditional Cache

Sly2’s fourth cache is placed within shouting distance (if not in sight) of two football clubs, Shortwood United and Forest Green Rovers. It’s in memory of my nephew Jonny, a talented semi-pro soccer player who died in his sleep on 17 September 2005 of sudden unexplained cardiac arrhythmia, aged just 20. He enjoyed golf and cricket too but soccer was his great love from an early age.

The original cache was the starting point for two TBs representing Jonny’s last two clubs - Pontefract Collieries FC in West Yorkshire and Winterton Rangers, near Scunthorpe, Lincs – and contained items on a soccer theme. There can be plenty of traffic, plus muggles and dog-walkers so please be careful when finding and hiding the cache.
The roads around here are pretty narrow so please avoid caching and dashing by car: maybe park in Shortwood and combine this one with a few other Sly2 caches: on match days you can call in at Shortwood FC’s club house for refreshments.
You can approach the cache by field or road. If by field, be aware that there are sometimes cattle here, so please keep dogs under control.
NB: You don't need to untie the cache to access the container! If you do, please leave it tied up in place and hidden when you've done.
