This cache has been archived.

Alpine Reviewer: As I have not received an update from the cache owner, I am archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you (the cache owner) wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, please contact me, and assuming it meets the guidelines, I will be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Located off Rampart Range Rd., In Pike National Forest, approx. halfway between Woodland Park and Colorado Springs. This road offers some of the most spectacular views in the Pikes Peak area.

If you are not familiar with this road, it is posted as "Not maintained for low clearance vehicles". Most SUVs and higher vehicles should have no problem most of the time.
If you drive down from the top, the road is in better shape. It's around 25 miles either driving from Woodland Park, and back, or driving on down to the Springs. The bottom half is a little rockier, but you do end up right at the Garden of the Gods Park. Either way you travel, you will be treated to some of the most awesome views in the area.

DISCLAIMER: Please, use your best judgement and discretion in determining if your vehicle is appropriate for this road.

The cache is located a couple hundred yards off of the road, next to a group of campsites, on a forest road. This road is a little more challenging than the main road. However, it should be no problem for most 4WD vehicles. There is also room to park close to the main road, and walk a little farther, if you choose.
Note: It appears that camping is not allowed on this side of the road, at the present time.

The hike to the cache is about 100 Yards, down or up a small hill, depending on where you park. Children should have no problem with the climb.

You are looking for a 1/2 gallon clear plastic jug, with a white lid.
This is our second cache, so decided to make this one a little harder. It should still be a good one for the kids.

The theme this time is FUN. Any thing that you can play with or have fun with will work . We have started with some playing cards, dice, balls for juggling(take all 3), Hot Wheels, and some other fun related items. Also, something cool for the first to find.
Please keep to the theme, and trade games and fun related items. Please hide the cache exactly as you found it, and report any problems you observe.
