Geocache Description:

It's about time Strensall had a cache and it's also about time we placed a cache for others to find. So here it is .....

PLEASE NOTE... DUE TO ALL THE RECENT RAIN AND SNOW THE AREA IS FLOODED, FOR THE LAST 4 METRES. WELLIES ARE REQUIRED. There are 2 ways to the cache .... along the path in the woods and it's about 4 metres off the path between the path and the road. The terrain is easy (apart from the last 4 metres which is off the path) and popular with Muggle dog walkers so keep an eye out for them. You can park at N54°02.349', W1°01.525' and walk along a newly constructed pathway through the small wood. GPS accuracy may be affected by tree cover. The other way is from the road side ... CURRENTLY THIS IS BETTER AS IT IS A BIT DRYER !!!!! There is parking along the road... TAKE CARE!!!!! Look for a white 5 bar wooden gate... the cache is directly opposite on the other side of the road. During winter or after heavy rain the ground can get quite wet between the path and cache location. The cache is a small lock-n-lock style container. First to Find honours go to PURPLEGIRAFFES. Well Done. Strensall is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of the City of York in the north of England, on the River Foss north of York and north-east of Haxby. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 3,815.
