Please come join us on Sunday, November, 11th at 9:00am for the
"2007 River Park North CITO"
The posted coordinates will get you to the picnic area of River
Park North,
which is just off Mumford Road in Greenville, NC. At ground
zero there is
a covered shelter with plenty of tables and that's where the CITO
will begin.
Donuts, coffee, water, and cold sodas will be provided to help you
get your strength
up before we start picking up trash. A sheet containing
coordinates, container size and hints for 11 caches (hidden in the
park), that will be published Monday, Nov 12th, will be passed out
to everybody that attended the CITO. That means everybody attending
will have a chance to get one of the 11 FTF's in the park.
There are five (5) ponds located in this beautiful park and the
plan is for
us to pick up the trash around all of them. This park is pretty
clean, but you
should probably wear some older clothes and shoes for the clean
up. If you
have gloves, small buckets, and trash pick-up sticks, please bring
them, but
the park manager will be providing trash bags and latex gloves.
Local cachers have put out over 35 new caches around Greenville in
the last 2 weeks and plan to put out many more as the event draws
near. There will be 6 caches in the park active during the CITO and
a sheet with 11 caches (that will be published Monday) will be
passed out to everybody after the CITO. So come on out and do your
part for a great park that allows Geocaching.
Camping is available with a 72 hour
advance reservation for only $10 a day. Also Kenny from the
Horsegeeks will be bringing some of the Geowoodstock The Movie
DVDs (the DVD that was made at GW5) and they will be for sale
before and after the event. River Park North hours are: 7:00am
to 5:30pm (Winter hours)
