An easy, flat walk on a new 850m trail in Mono Township. There is a bit of a hill at the end.
Island Lake Reservoir is home to many bird species. Depending upon when you visit you may be able to see many boat types as well. Our son spends many early, pre-dawn mornings rowing with the Island Lake Rowing Club as he prepares for highschool rowing regattas across Ontario. The reservoir is not long enough to provide a full 2 km course but does give a one kilometer half course. At other times many fishing boats and canoes can be found on the water. Looking far across the lake you can also see the large Canadian Flag flying at Dragonfly park, the enterance to Orangeville.
The cache can also be accessed by other trails in the area but they aren't as well marked as this one. If you enter into the conservation area as there is a fee.
