Geocache Description:

This cache is located just south of the Milwaukee Art Museum and its stunning new addition, which was designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. The building was unveiled in May 2001, and it includes a 90-foot high glass atrium covered by the Brise Soleil, which opens like wings when the weather is good. The new addition to the Art Museum has quickly become the architectural symbol of Milwaukee. Be sure to enjoy the view of this wonderful building.

To the west of the cache is the new Discovery World museum, and in the summer you have a good chance to see the Denis Sullivan in port. The Denis Sullivan is a 137-foot re-creation of a 19th century three-masted Great Lakes schooner.

The cache is a small magnetic key holder. There is only enough room for the log, so bring your own pen or pencil. The terrain to the cache consists of paved walkways. On the map it may look like the cache is in the water, but it is accessible on foot. The difficulty rating reflects the stealth that will be required. This is a tourist area, and the number of people nearby could be significant, especially during festival season in the summer. Plan the timing of your visit accordingly. Limited street parking is available nearby. If the street parking is full there are parking garages to the north and west, or you can find more street parking further into the downtown area. Please do not use the parking lot for the restaurant.
