This a multi-cache and the co-ordinates above are to the first clue.
The cache is about 3/4 mile from the Hartington Cheese Shop. If you would like to do a round of about 4 ½ miles then continue via Pilsbury and pick up geocache Very White Peak on your return leg.
Many walkers visit Hartington and head south into Beresford and Wolfscote Dales and on to Dovedale. This walk explores the Dale north of Hartington. It has a serene beauty distinct from its dramatic cousins to the south.
There are clues at the following co-ordinates to help you find the cache:-
A) [N 53° 08.458 W 001° 48.643]
For how many years did the District Nurse live here?
Add the digits together to produce A
B) [N 53° 08.459 W 001° 48.715]
Look at the sign by the roadside which contains reference to a Religious Holiday. The first digit on the sign is B.
C) [N 53° 08.465 W 001° 48.770]
A nearby sign has a footpath number. The middle digit of the number is C.
D) [N 53° 08.782 W 001° 49.242]
Another sign at this point contains a footpath number. The last digit of the number is D.
To check that you have latched onto our clues:-
A+B+C+D=25.
Feed these numbers into the co-ordinate below.
[N 53° 08.8BA W 001° 49.2DC]
Now up the hill to the cache. It is a lunchbox 8”x5”x3” with goodies and room for swaps.
First to Find certificate has now been claimed by plasma & photofreak jointly. Well done.
Hiders & Seekers.
