Pocket Places #11 - The Halls of October Traditional Cache
reedla: When I placed this cache, it was about 110 feet from the trail. Well, they moved the trail! (See note below from Trailhead Tessie) The new trail is VERY NICE, beautifully done! BUT, it now bends right around the tree with the cache! (So I imagine a couple of you had really EASY finds.) I went out yesterday to remove this cache in favor of some others I intend to place in the area. Keep watch, there will be at least 3 caches in this area soon!

Pocket Places #11 - The Halls of October

October is here! Leaves ablaze with color, falling, and crunching underfoot. A great time to be in the woods! The air has a chill in it (although this year the chill is a bit late in coming). Enjoy the hike on this loop trail!
The "Shelton Open Space Loop" is a Blue-and-Yellow Blazed loop of about a mile, bisected by a 500-foot Red Blazed cutoff trail. This is a lovely "Pocket Place"
Parking is found at the end of Tahmore Place, in Shelton. Don't forget to waypoint the car! From this cul-de-sac, the B/Y loop trail goes to the right (west, then southwest) or left (east then southeast), and the Red Trail goes straight south into the woods.
Whichever path you take, you'll get there.... I bid you please to not be in such a hurry that you feel you have to come back the same way you went out.....
The eastern part of the loop connects with the southern section of the Paugussett trail, just north of Indian Wells.
