Lambourne Loop Extension – Fallen Ape
Small 450ml cliplock containing a small variety
of goodies with a Halloween theme.
The coordinates given are accurate to about 18’.
The Lambourne Loop
The Lambourne Loop is about 3.5miles starting
and ending at Lambourne Church (park at the Church N 51° 38.656
E00° 08.085).
Lambourne Church itself is well worth a visit

history and click here for Lambourne Church
photos. There are some interesting brasses at the front of the
Church at the top of the nave near the alter rail on the LHS,
although these are generally covered by carpet these days (ask
permission, or be very discrete if you have a peek).
Look at all the monuments to the Lockwood
Family inside. There is also a very old painting of St Christopher
on the right hand wall believed to date from the 14th
century, partially over painted in 16th
century.
Fallen Ape extension
If you’ve driven here, it is probably
best to drive down to this one – although a walk down
Church Lane is possible.
Head along Church Lane back towards the main road. The best place to
park is opposite The Elms (N 51° 39.192 E 00° 08.390, there
is a footpath sign on the RHS).
Walk along the path towards Ape’s Grove.
You’ll encounter the cache shortly.
There is another cache in the
vicinity.
If you continue along the path you’ll end
up in Abridge.
Return back the way you came.
