This cache started with a nice assortment of trading items. Please respect the integrity of the cache and trade even, trade up or just log the find and don't trade at all. Please do not leave garbage, broken toys, broken keychains or loose pocket change.
Mitchell Park is a 10 acre naturalized woodlot with a 500-metre trail running through it. The woodlot/parkland remains in place in the middle of a city block and is protected by the city and left as a naturalized area by the builders in the sub-division. The City of Guelph has taken the stand that the protection and maintenance of its woodlots, heritage trees, water resources and environmentally sensitive areas is mandatory. The city’s naturalization policy allows the park landscape to self-perpetuate and provide natural ecosystem functions while preserving the city’s natural resources for the enjoyment of future generations.
The trail through the park was placed by the city and is an easy walk. The last 45 metres to the cache are over rough terrain that can be soft at times as the area used to be marshland.
