A huge naturalized woodlot protected by the City of Guelph. Tree cover may cause GPSr to bounce. This cache started with a nice assortment of small trading items. This is a small cache but please respect the integrity of the cache and trade even, trade up or just log the find and don't trade at all. Please do not leave garbage, broken toys, broken key chains or loose pocket change.
Do not park on Speedvale Ave. There is plenty of parking near the trailhead.
At the trailhead your GPSr will show that you are about 250m from the cache. After a short walk down the trail you can choose the shortest, toughest route and bushwhack through very heavy brush and scrub or you can choose an easier route further along the trail and do some minor bushwhacking. You could also choose to follow a narrow trail to the cache site and explore this very large wooded area a bit. If you choose the trail the hike is about 540 metres. If you choose to bushwhack you can cut the distance to about 225 metres. If you are bushwhacking please be careful not to destroy the vegetation. Keep an eye out for Giant puffball mushrooms – I have seen them in here as big as basketballs – but they can grow in size to a diameter of 150cm and weigh up to 20kg.
