Geocache Description:

My first ever cache placement and a large gum tree falls directly on the spot I was standing! The trunk missed my head by a few inches. It left me scratched, stunned and shaken. I took it as a sign that it was not a good spot for a cache!

So I have moved the cache to a safe spot not far away where there are no overhanging trees. You can see the "deadly tree" on the ground about 25 m north of the cache. It's an
angophora (or smooth barked apple).

To reach the cache easily there are 2 options:

A) From Hornsby along the Blue Gum track. This track starts at Ginger Meggs Park on Valley Rd and finishes at the end of Rosemead Rd. It does involve an uphill climb.

B) From Westleigh along the Great North Walk. Park at the end of Quarter Sessions Rd and you'll see a fire trail next to house number 294. Walk down the hill slightly and you will see a small trail off to the right, marked with a pointer to the Great North Walk. When you hit the Great North Walk follow the track east. The track stays quite high.

It is a bit rocky, so not great for sore knees!

ENJOY!
