Prayer Hill Traditional Cache
VerrueckteFrau: Finally I was able to get back out on the bike - recovery from a major surgery took quite a while.
When I got to my favorite, though, I stood there crying. They are clear cutting more of the forest preserve again.
Here is a picture of what is left of the tree and the cache :-( :-( :-(

You can do this as a quick bike'n'grab, or you can linger a bit and leave a prayer request.
When I ride my bike to work in the morning, I usually stop on this hill for a few minutes of prayer and enjoying the quiet beauty of Creation before heading into grey, dreary cubicle-land. It's especially pretty when the morning fog still hangs over the creek below. Lots of deer nearby, too.
If you or a friend have any situation or area in your life where you could use some encouragement, strength, wisdom, comfort, or just knowing that you're not alone, feel free to take a piece of paper seperate from the logbook (there's some in the box) and write your prayer request down. I will take those out when I stop by and lift your concerns up to the Father.
Added 10/31/07: If you leave a prayer request, prayer or note, and you're ok with it staying in there for others to read as well and be encouraged by it or pray for you too, mark it up with an "L" ("Leave") in the corner.
And if you just want to come for a quick, easy find, that's ok too :)
The cache is close to the bike trail, and easiest to get to by bike.
The closest parking is by the Hoffman Estates Park District building on Lexington.
