Welcoming Waters of History Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Christopher Pike: Since the cache appears to be gone, and the cache owner / 4th grade class hasn't been on the site for years, I'm going to go ahead and archive this one to get it off the map.

Geocache Description:

4th Graders from South Dakota welcome you to the Queen City of the Black Hills and a lesson on South Dakota history! We hope to learn more about our state and other states, too!

Spearfish is named the Queen City for the three mountain peaks that surround it. Lookout Mt. to the east, Spearfish Mt. to the south, and Crow Peak to the west are all known as the "jewels" in the queens crown, thus the name "The Queen City."

As you enjoy this scenic location, take a few minutes to read a few facts about our state from the mini book of South Dakota facts (this book remains with the cache PLASE!)

When you sign our log book PLEASE include something interesting you know about our state or some facts about the state you are from! We will be tracking the locations of your logs on a map in our classroom.

You are welcome to take one of the South Dakota souvenirs from the cache, but remember to leave us something - hopefully something from the state you are from!
