Geocache Description:

This is a very easy spot to drive up and nab a cache large enough to hold trade items. Located near a boat launch on Mill Pond in downtown Austin.

"Underway! Shift Colors!" is a phrase that is often heard in Naval sea ports as our ships drop their last line connecting them to land. Once this occurs, our Nations Flag is shifted from the Jack Staff located on the fantail (back of the ship) to the main mast where it will fly until once again anchored or along side a pier. This is also when all crewmen aboard shift their attention to their demanding duties at sea. As a retired sailor, I can say that there are few places on earth that offer such experiences as being at sea on a combatant that was built for speed! Since we are now about as far as one can go from being "at sea" this small boat launch on a man made waterway will have to suffice. Take a moment to view the gallery on this web page of just a few of my memories at sea.
