A short walk along abandoned rail tracks
A one quart camoflagued lock and lock box moving into the hiding spot of the "Usual Suspects" Cache that was archived on September 30th 2007.
Past History:
The general location was originally built as the Fitchburg & Worcester RR in 1850. It ran from Fitchburg to Pratts Junction to Sterling Junction on the Worcester to Nashua RR. The line between Sterling Junction and Sterling was abandoned in 1937. The line between Pratts Junction and Sterling was abandoned in 1962. It was part of the New Haven RR. Part of the line is still used to access freight customers in Leominster by trains from Framingham.
Recent History:
In 2003 a cache was placed here to celebrate the "Usual Suspects" a group of a folks that usually hit a cache on it's opening day. We dedicate this cache to the "Un-Usual Suspects" that do not get to visit a new cache right away due to the different directions life might lead us.
Contents:
We have placed a bunch of "Unusual Suspects Cache" buttons in the cache plus an original, highly collectable (we hope) "Usual Suspect" button. Thanks to Henry & Elly for creating these "Unusual Suspect" buttons to keep the tradition going !
