NOPE, THOSE AREN'T THE REAL COORDINATES!

Before coming to Canada in 1994, I was studying for an anthropology/archaeology degree. Never finished that degree but have always enjoyed finding out about past civilizations. The main focus of my studies was the American southwest. I did a lot of surveying and mapping of the Joshua Tree National Monument as well as the Salton Sea area. I helped out on a dig with U.C. Santa Barbara at Rimrock Shelter near Needles, CA (woke up in the back of my Jeep in the early morning to an earthquake which just about leveled 29 Palms and the vicinity) and also did some time with UNLV. Petroglyphs (pictures carved/etched/scraped into rock) and pictographs (pictures painted onto rock surfaces) were always my favourite things to discover and learn about and the ones I liked the most were the BIG HORNED SHEEP!

My archaeology and field class instructor, Nick Spain, had a way of making you WANT to delve deeper and learn more about what you were studying. His Rock Art and field classes were some of the best times I've ever had. It was hard work and there were field journals to write but I thoroughly enjoyed myself and met some wonderful people!

Another civilization that used "pictures" to convey messages (dare I say WRITE MESSAGES? ... yes, I will!) was the ancient Egyptians. So, I have decided to send you back to "class" to learn about hieroglyphs. You must decipher the message below to learn the true coordinates of the cache. Please no critiques about my glyph writing... I'm new at it too! (haha)

At the time of placement, the cache contained various small items for trade which include a "bag of bones" (gotta stick with the theme here...), a TB, a geocoin, caching buttons, etc. There's also a little "golden treasure" for the FTF. Please keep your trades small. Enjoy the glyphs and happy hunting!
