Geocache Description:

Horse Power

Mazkeret Batya is a picturesque village south-east of Rechovot, founded in 1883 with financial support of the famous Rothschild family. The village was named after Betty, the mother of the Baron Edmond the Rothschild. (Batya is the Hebrew equivalent for Betty).
The first water source of the village was a constructed well, from which the water was drawn by a horse driven "antalya" or water wheel system and pumped into the nearby basin or taken straight home, to the fields or to the animals.
Take enough time to walk around in the neighbourhood and discover the beautiful surroundings, the historical buildings and the romantic places.
In the mean time don't forget you actually came for the cache.

Coming from road 411 you drive according to the signs to Mazkeret Batya. You will get to Rothschild street. After 550 meters turn south-east into "Hameyasdim". At the point where "Hameyasdim" meets "Hachnasat Orchim" street, you will find the small garden where the cache is hidden.

Attention:
Please take your own pencil, even though I put one next to the cache.
If you would arrive to the spot in the late afternoon, you might be interrupted while looking for the cache, because it is a popular hour for young couples (and their relatives) to have pictures taken here right before the chupa (wedding ceremony).
On the other hand, if you don't mind to be the-confused-looking-person-in-the-background of the wedding picturesโ€ฆ
