1.5L cliptop hidden near a lookout on the Speakers Chair spur off the Matilda Walk trail.
Speakers Chair Spur is approximately half way around the Matilda walk and approx. 2.5 km return trip. It is marked with Mountain Devil signs.
To do the Matilda Walk circuit plus the Speakers Chair spur, my GPSr track recorded a distance of 7.7Km and it took us 2.5 hours at an average speed of 3Km/h. This included rest stops to take in the views and take pictures at all 5 lookouts.
Remember, take plenty of water with you and drink small amounts frequently, if you get thirsty it's already too late.
Brief History
The Speakers Chair is named after the Hon. T.F. Quinlan, Speaker of the House of Assembly who visited on July 7th 1908 searching for the proposed railway route North of Wongan Hills.
These walk trails are a volunteer project supported by Trails West, Lotteries Commission, CALM, The Shire of Wongan - Ballidu & The Wongan Hills Tourist Promotion Centre.
