A walk of about half a mile from either parking place to the cache. Can get muddy in winter.
This cache is hidden beside a sloping path known as Jacob’s Ladder.
Many years ago, there were stone steps but they have long disappeared except for a few at the top.
The recommended parking place is at N51° 20.719' W1° 59.957' (please park on the grass side of the road). Follow the road down the hill, where you will almost certainly lose satellite contact, and across a field to the cache.
A second place is the lay-by at N51° 19.875' W2° 00.194'. This requires a walk along a main road with a narrow pavement. Walk along the road to the start of a footpath at N51° 20.067' W2° 00.097'. If going this way make sure that you cross the footbridge, not the road bridge – it’s a private drive.
Unfortunately the two stiles on each route make it unsuitable for wheelchairs or buggies.
This area is part of Chris’s childhood playground. At a very young age he lived in the large mill on the left that you will pass if you approach from the second parking place. Later he lived near the recommended parking place and well remembers playing on the cliffs that you will pass if you approach from that direction. He also remembers learning to play Poohsticks on the footbridge.
