The cache involves a short flat walk of approx half a mile each way on a public footpath / rough track with a stile with dog access at the start. Suggested parking is in the lay-by near the lower village hall at N50° 53. 975 E000° 36.592 From parking location walk approx 100 yards down the road in a Westerly direction (please take care as there is some very fast traffic) The start of the footpath can be found on your right just after the bridge.
This is our first cache and is a walk of just under a mile on a public footpath / track which takes you along by Sailors Stream on your right hand side and the newly formed wetlands on your left. There is plenty of wildlife along the way with Cows, Horses, Ducks, Geese, Frogs, Rabbits, Dragonflies, Pheasants and a Heron being just some of the creatures we have seen here and there is a pond full of large fish very near to the cache site. This is a popular dog walk but care should be taken with children and dogs as the road where you park can be busy.
Take gloves as the stingers are starting to grow!
This is a regular cache (Ammo Box) and at the time of placing contained the usual swaps and certificates for the first three finders. 25.04.11. Update: The Ammo Box has gone missing and so we have replaced it with a camo clip lock box instead, hidden close by.
Please ensure that the cache is closed properly and that it is upright when you replace it, so that the contents stay dry!
After finding the cache you can go back the way you came or join the 1066 Country Walk Hastings Link and enjoy a longer walk and explore this part of the country (a good map of the area is recommended)
