Geocache Description:

A very short offset cache in Georgetown.

NOTE: You will be in close proximity to some homes. Don't fear, that's MY house you're snooping around (#126 if you want to say hi).

Welcome to the former home of the Dominion Seed House company of Georgetown - one of Canada's largest distributors of mail order seeds and once a prominent business in this town.

William Bradley founded the Dominion Seed House Company in 1928. It operated here for 60 years before it was sold in 1993 and relocated to Quebec.

Many of the streets in this block acquired their names in homage to this history. The townhouses in this neighbourhood are modelled after the original Dominion Seed House buildings that once stood here. The original buildings were a mock-tudor style, and people came from across the country to view these structures and see where their seeds came from. A field of flowers surrounded these buildings, which must have been a memorable sight upon arrival.

The buildings were demolished in 1999 after a suspicious fire ended the debate over their potential heritage designation. All that remains of these structures are the stone walls in the Old Seed House Garden at the other end of this street. Now, about the geocache you're here to find. The geocache is an offset type - stage one is a nano with the co-ordinates for the final.

No trespassing is required to reach this cache. Do not hop fences or walk up driveways. Be aware of muggles and please come back later if the area is busy. The final is a micro, and you will need to bring your own pen. You will have to leave the sidewalk, but the cache should be accessible using a wheelchair.

Twist open the bottom to access the log sheet. It is not the bird houses, leave those alone. Please replace the cache stages as found.
