This cache is on the Eastern Border of
Woodway Park. What's on the other side of this border line
you might be asking yourself? Well, the answer is a sad
subject for TheGeoGoes.
First let me tell you what used to be
on the "other side" of the border. A great Country Club & golf
course where we spent many, many, great times golfing, swimming,
eating, drinking, playing tennis, fishing, etc over the years. This
was a fun place!! The country club changed hands a few times over
the many years (Western Oaks, Woodland West, Heather's Run) but a
couple of years ago it changed hands again and this last owner
dealt the Country Club it's fatal blow. Yep, a developer bought the
land and is in the process of putting in a bunch of homes. No more
golf course,etc.
So, on the other side of the border today is
yet another new developement in Woodway , Texas. Goodbye lush
grass, beautiful trees, cool ponds,great outdoor activities,
etc.......gotta make way for more houses and paved streets! Sigh,
isn't progress great?! It makes me think of a song,
Big Yellow Taxi by Counting Crows.
"They took all the trees
Put 'em in a tree museum
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see 'em
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot."
I guess I should also mention that over the
years we probably lost more than a few golf balls in the Ground
Zero area. Ooooops! 
Also, from this cache location you
can get a view of some of the developement happening on the
"other side" of the border.
The cache is log only so please BYOP! (Bring
your own Pen). You can leave the cache in place and just open the
lid to remove the log. No briars, No Poison Ivy/Oak, No
Bushwacking. Just a lazy day kind of cache.
Please note: Woodway and their "finest"
enforce- parking in designated parking areas only - in this
fine park so please park in the parking lot by the playground area
and take the short walk over. It's still less than an 1/10 of a
mile. Do not park in the grass!
