Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park was opened in 1841 as one of the ‘Magnificent Seven’ cemeteries, designed to solve the problem of London’s overcrowded graveyards.
It is a secluded area of urban East London and care should be taken when wandering about. It is the largest area of mature woodland in East London for miles, and provides invaluable habitat for varied fauna and flora. See: (visit link)
The park is easily accessible from Bow Road or Mile End tube stations, but is closed at night.
Little has been published about the cemetery, and it would be great if each visitor to the cache could find and note one fact about it. Find something out, by hook or by Crooks.
Please practice cache in trash out.
