During his long career Chaplin made many great films but one of the most influential was surely The Great Dictator. This Hollywood classic was released in 1940 before the USA entered World War II and was an attempt to bring events of the time in Germany, into the American public's gaze. It was a vicious satire on Hitler, the Nazi party and the treatment of the Jewish people.
In the film Chaplin plays the double roles of Adenoid Hynkel, the Tomanian dictator and also a little Jewish barber. After the inevitable mix up in which Hynkel is arrested by his own secret police, the little Jewish barber is mistaken for Hynkel and has to address the big rally. He cannot speak German and so makes a language up as he goes along.
The speech shows that even apparently senseless twaddle can be very meaningful!
And so the scene is set :-

Chaplin spoke here in the language of comedy and just as comedy is universal, so is this cache , which can be solved by speakers of any language.
