GAG11 - The Glebe: Rest In Peace Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Taoiseach: I keep posting updates to the situation!

Anyway, I've given it three months, and the bench hasn't returned. Without the bench, this cache sort of loses its raison d'être, so I think it's time...

Thanks to everyone who found it!

Geocache Description:

This cache is for GAG11. Please do not start looking for it until 18.00 (6pm) on Friday 26 October 2007.

Welcome to the Glebe, an old residential neighbourhood just South of the downtown area in Ottawa. It was one of Ottawa's first suburbs, and in 1900 a streetcar line was established between the Glebe and downtown Ottawa. Most houses in the area date from this era. You'll find many restaurants, pubs and small stores along Bank Street. For more information on the Glebe, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Glebe

Tired from walking around shopping / geocaching / looting the area in general? Then this is a cache for you. Enjoy the tranquility while doing some people spotting at this prime location. Nearby establishments will be happy to supply you with a coffee.

The cache contains a log book, a pencil and a few small and flat trades. The area is high traffic at most times, so please be discreet. There's ample parking in the entire neighbourhood. The cache is daylight agnostic, and winter and wheelchair accessible. Happy hunting!

Update 2007-10-28: upgraded to a better container that hopefully will keep the water away. The old log book was beyond any kind of repair, sorry about that. The cache has a new log book, and it also contains a pencil now, and a few foreign coins as trades.

Update 2008-04-19: the lost container has been replaced by Taoiseach, who is also maintaining this cache from now on. Enjoy! /Smork
Update 2008-07-25: A special thanks to 5davee for replacing the lost container in my absence
