Geocache Description:

Currently belonging to Lithuanian Royal Union of Nobility Traku Voke Manor was built in 1880 by an italian architect L.Marconi.

"The manor of Traku Voke is on the old way Vilnius-Gardin. Until the 19th century it belonged to the Marshal of Trakai, Ludwik Dambrovski. Later, in 1850 the estate with its plot of land was bought by Count Jonas Tiskevicius, the Marshal of Noblemen of Vilnius province. Marconi was commissioned to duplicate Lazenki the royal estate of the Polish king Stanislaw Poniatowski in Warsaw. The architect built a smaller but more beautiful and elegant version of the building..."

-- Lithuanian Royal Union of Nobility.

The manor was occupied by Nazis during WW2. The adornment on the building was destroyed after the war. It was later used by the Institute of Agriculture under the Soviet rule in Lithuania.

The building got renovated in 1978.

The beautiful park surrounding the Manor was designed and built by the French architect Eduardo Fransua Andre. A fantastic Ghotic style gate has survived.

The cache is hidden in a park area, it is a small plastic lock'n'lock type container inside a plastic camo bag. Some small gadgets are thrown in for swag, a trash bag and a spare camo bag which you can take should you need to camouflage your own caches. An FTF wooden nickel for the First to Find is in there, too.

Happy hunt!
