The final cache is medium sized waterproof container that has room for swaps. Pleas ensure you seal the lid closing. Clues are hidden along the way in micro containers. Terrain is mostly flat and open, at times. wading maybe required.
To find the final cache you will need to follow a trail marked by small orange coloured reflectors located in the trees about 2 metres above the ground. Any point where there are two reflectors placed close together indicates a either a hidden cache nearby or the end of the trail.
To locate the caches you should hold a torch near your eyeline and scan the surrounding terrain. The cache was set using a good quality LED torch and tested with a 2 D cell torch, so you don't need a million candle power torch(GIBBOO please note)but the better quality the torch the easier it will be. When you arrive at the reflector repeat the scanning process. You may have to move around and even a few metres out from the tree, depending on the power of your torch as they are fairly directional. The reflectors are placed between 40 - 70 metres apart. so they are quite small to see.
The early reflectors are quite easy to find, so you can get your "eye: in on what you are looking for. But as you progress further they do get harder to spot. After all its not meant to be just a simple walk in the park.
The area chosen for the trail is considered a low risk area, however, this is Darwin and especially during the wet season snakes become active, so make sure you wear sound footwear and be careful with undergrowth.
The area is also pretty good for personal safety, but again it is dark with little lighting so it is not advised for women in particular to do this cache by themselves.
There is a road nearby and care should be taken when searching for the reflectors not to dazzle the drivers, especially for this with the more powerful torches.
The gates close about 7.00pm, so DON'T park inside. There is an area outside the gates on the acces road where you can leave the car.
The winner in the long term will be the one who pays attention to detail.
