Micros in the Bush?!?!?
What's so funny?
Some of you may know Dutchmaster, a geocacher here in my
area who has sort of taken me under his wing when it comes to this
sport - especially hiding caches! All of his hides not only
entertain but also educate, a standard I respect and would like to
aspire to.
Of the many good suggestions he's provided me, the one thing he
tends to lament is people who hide micros in non-urban areas. My
first few hides were micros that would fall under that
category.
So here's a multi-cache dedicated to Dutchmaster's lament about
little caches in the bush. The posted coordinates will bring you to
a small cache container which contains a scroll with two waypoints
- one for a micro cache and one for a nano cache. You must find
both of these waypoint caches to put together the coordinates for
the main cache. I hope you find it worth the effort!
Please return all items in the micros back as you found them.
Because of the canopy here, I've taken each coordinate reading four
times and averaged them. All the caches are designed to be
accessible in the winter as well as kid friendly. The overall path
you'll take is a loop but the trails are not marked (though they
are well maintained). Watch for thorns, especially at the Micro. If
you see a fellow working some bee colonies not far from the micro,
please note he is not a muggle.
The Micro is a black film canister with a string in it. Count
the number of knots in the string.
The Nano is a brown pill box attached to the side of the tree.
Inside of it is a number.
All caches in this multi are marked with the groundspeak logo.
It is possible to access each cache without creating a geo-trail.
Please try and take the path of least impact.
The main cache can be found at:
N 45 06.(17 X number of knots in the
Micro)
W 74 35.(166 X number in the Nano)
The main cache has a TB Hotel in it, so please place trackable
items in the provided container so they don't get lost. Total round
trip is achievable in under an hour depending on how long it takes
to locate the caches
Congratulations to Dutchmaster for being FTF!
